Fox NFL reporter Jay Glazer finally popped the big question and is officially engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Rosie Tenison.
In his book, Unbreakable: How I Turned My Depression and Anxiety into Motivation and You Can Too, the reporter openly discussed struggles with mental health and keeping relationships because he “didn’t feel worthy of love.”
However, an insider was pleased to inform media outlets that Glazer was able to overcome his fears and commit to a partner for life. “Jay got engaged in Santa Monica at the site of his first date with Rosie when they dated the first time,” the source told PEOPLE. “He had broken up with Rosie, though he knew she was his soul mate and the love of his life.”
Taking to Instagram, the 53-year-old NFL reporter confirmed what the insider shared; he did feel unlovable, and it made being a partner difficult. Despite his struggle with mental health, he is pleased to be in a loving relationship and wouldn’t change his journey to happiness. He wrote on Instagram, “Sooooo this happened! ❤️❤️❤️ It only took me 53 years to find true love. For everyone out there… it’s never too late.”
Jay Glazer admits he would not receive love had he not gone on a ‘mental health journey’
“Because of my gray, I’ve felt unlovable for 53 years! As a result, I’ve sabotaged and pushed others away- that’s what the gray gets you to do. But it takes a special spirit to stand there with me, help me grow, and feel worthy of feeling loved,” Glazer continued.
“That’s who this woman is!! This amazing, incredible soul Rosie Tenison saw my pain but more so saw my heart and said, ‘This man takes care of so many people, but who takes care of him? I want to be the one to take care of him!’ “
Glazer added the sentiments, “I wouldn’t have been able to receive this love had I not gone on this mental health journey with all of you.”
He concluded his announcement post by sending his love to those who gave him the courage to become comfortable in his skin and to his fiancée for supporting him through thick and thin. “Took me 53 years to do the work on myself to see I am worth it. I can beat the gray. I can live in the blue. Thank you, Rosie, for what’s going to be a lifetime of blue and love,” said Glazer.
