Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is no stranger to confusing the media with his actions. The contents of his #MondayNightGratitude Instagram post further showcase his ominous personality.
Throughout this NFL season, the 38-year-old athlete faced some backlash when he disclosed his confusing vaccination status. Despite him claiming he had been immunized for the virus, he came forward that he had not received a dose of any COVID vaccination, which ignited his first string of bewildering behaviors.
Although the football star went public with his relationship with actress Shailene Woodley, the actress even confirmed an engagement on a talk show, a source alleged that the two had recently split up.
“They grew apart, both have busy careers and unfortunately their relationship took a backseat. There is no animosity and they will remain friends,” the source shared.
However, Rodgers’ most recent instagram post is just leaving the public with more questions than answers. Despite seemingly breaking up, the quarterback began his gratitude post with a section dedicated to Woodley.
“Thanks for always having my back, for the incredible kindness you show me and everyone you meet, and for showing me what unconditional love looks like, I love you and am grateful for you,” he wrote.
He also included, “Thanks for letting me chase after you the first couple months after we met, and finally letting me catch up to you and be a part of your life”
This statement stirred some confusion considering many were under the impression that the two had called it quits, but as Rodgers continued his message, Green Bay fans grew even more uneasy.
Does this Instagram post imply that Aaron Rodgers is concluding his career in the NFL?
While it is normal to reflect on the football season and give thanks to those who aided in helping his team succeed, the words and phrases Rodgers decided to use felt more personal. Not only was he reflective of the 2021-2022 season, but he was reflective of his entire career, making it seem like this post was a farewell to his time in the NFL.
“To my teammates, past and current, you are the icing on the beautiful cake we call our job; football…I am so thankful for the role that each of you have played in making my life that much better,” he expressed. He included the sentiments, “I love you guys, and cherish the memories we’ve made.”
Yet, when he made an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” following his cryptic Instagram post, he explained that the post was not aimed to stir confusion, but rather reflect on the positives of this past year. He noted the post’s goal was to express happiness in a time of darkness.
He also claimed that he still has “a few more things to contemplate but it won’t be long,” before he decides whether or not to participate in the 2022 NFL season.
Considering the state of the world in the last few years, Rodgers’ needed to share some form of positivity with his audience. He expressed thanks for having an amazing partner, friends, all alongside a meaningful career.
So, what’s next for Aaron Rodgers? It seems as though he is the only person who knows the answer.
Although his audience doesn’t know what’s next for the football star, everyone should take the advice he left his fans with. Concluding his Instagram message, Rodgers expressed the powerful sentiments, “Spread love and gratitude you beautiful people, and read a book once in a while too while you’re at it. Love and peace.”
