AFC Wild Card Weekend Playoff Predictions
This coming Weekend, three playoff games will be played on Saturday, three on Sunday. For each of the three AFC matchups, I will discuss both teams, the game’s x-factor, and who I think has the upper hand.

On Tuesday, superstar wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, negotiated and signed a two-year $54.5 million contract extension with the Arizona Cardinals.
On Sunday, Matt Nagy, Chicago Bear’s head coach, announced that Mitchell Trubisky would begin the season as the starting quarterback for Chicago after a short battle with former Super Bowl MVP, Nick Foles, for quarterback.
On a podcast called, “10 questions With Kyle Brandt” which appeared Wednesday but Cousins said was recorded in July, Vikings quarterback, Kirk Cousins, said “if I die, I die.” This sparked major backlash, and later Wednesday, Cousins spoke with reporters to clarify what he had earlier said.
As the ball’s momentum carried it out of the hoop, Jazz’s, star guard, Donovan Mitchell collapsed to the floor, facedown, after becoming only the 4th player ever to score at least 50 points twice in a playoff series, joining Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and Nugget’s Jamal Murray.
With 1:07 left in the first quarter, LA Clippers forward, Marcus Morris Sr., came down hard on Dallas Mavericks star, Luka Doncic’s head and neck.
However despite all of the fouls and high emotions, the story of the game was not related to Rick Carlisle getting ejected, or Paul George scoring 35 points. It was Clippers, Marcus Morris, stepping on the shoe of Doncic’s sprained left ankle.
On Sunday, Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old African-American man with three young boys was shot by police seven times in Kenosha, Wisconsin, paralyzing him, in what his father calls a “senseless attempted murder”. To protest the shooting, the Detroit Lions canceled their practice scheduled for Tuesday.
On August 17, 2020, former NFL running back, Jason Wright, became the first-ever African American president of a National Football League organization. The team that signed him was none other than the Washington Football Team, who just a few months earlier, was forced to change its name from the Washington Redskins after public outrage.
Patriots wide receiver, Julian Edelman, talked about Newton after they worked out together in July, “When you first meet him, just his stature. He’s — put together well. He has a great energy about himself. I was really impressed with his work ethic and mindset.” Newton stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 245 pounds.
