Women’s basketball legend Caitlin Clark now proudly leads in the Big Ten conference as the player with the most triple-doubles.
The 20-year-old, who plays point guard for the Iowa Hawkeyes, made history following her team’s 102-71 victory over Wisconsin. Within 30 minutes of their game against the Wisconsin Badgers, Clark shattered her record-breaking seventh career triple-double and passed former Hawkeye record-holder, Sam Logic. As the NCAA Division I women’s basketball leader of triple-doubles, she is proud to represent Iowa and even recognized the player that came before her.
“Sam Logic was a tremendous player for coach (Lisa) Bluder, so to be able to pass somebody that I watched when I was a little kid is a huge honor, but none of that happens without my teammates,” she said in a press conference after the game. “You can’t get 10 assists if your teammates don’t make 10 shots.”

The big win also marks an incredible victory for head coach, Lisa Blunder. Iowa’s victory over Wisconsin signifies Blunder’s 233rd regular-season conference victory, tying her with Hall of Fame coach C. Vivian Stringer for the most Big Ten regular-season conference wins. And, the coach gave credit to Clark where credit was due.

“I thought Caitlin could’ve done anything she wanted out there and I thought she really controlled the game and just did a tremendous job,” Blunder shared. “So congratulations to Caitlin for that, that’s an amazing accomplishment.”
However, Clark’s accomplishments this season are not only characterized by this record-break. According to CBS, the point guard is also averaging an astonishing 28.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game this season. Given her talents on the court, her teammates are more than static to express their love for the junior.
“She’s just amazing, that’s the only way to put it. No player like her in the country, the best player in the country,” teammate McKenna Warnock said of the player. “But I also think most people don’t see how hard of a worker she is. She outworks everyone on our team, on any team.”
Despite a rough start to the season, the team hopes to keep pushing forward. The Iowa Hawkeyes are expected to face off against their in-state rivals on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET.
