On what is now known as Kobe Bryant or Mamba Day, pop star Ciara took to Instagram to share her support for Kobe’s wife, Vanessa Bryant. On the day after what would have been his 42nd birthday, the city of Los Angeles has acknowledged 8/24 to be Kobe Bryant day as the legend wore the numbers 8 and 24 during his 20-year tenure with the Lakers.

Over those two days, people shared the kindest of words for the Hall of Famer and not only remembered Kobe as a person but they also remember his “mamba mentality” as well. As Kobe himself explained in one of his past interviews, “to sum up what mamba mentality is, it means to be able to constantly try to be the best version of yourself. That is what the mentality is. It’s a constant quest to try to better today than you were yesterday.”

And if there is anyone constantly channeling the mamba mentality over the last eight months since his tragic passing, it is his wife Vanessa. And while many of Kobe’s fans were remembering him, a handful of Vanessa’s friends used the day to praise her and her strength.

Along with a photo of Vanessa and two of her three surviving daughters, Ciara wrote, “Seeing you and the girls smile makes my heart smile. You’re the toughest mama I know. Seeing you put one foot forward each day is admirable. It ain’t easy, but if I know one thing, Mamba Queen’s capable of it all. Love you V.”

Another one of Vanessa’s close friends, Lala, did the same thing.

As Lala began along with a picture of her and Vanessa hanging out in a pool, she said that on Kobe’s birthday she was making it a priority to celebrate the Queen Mamba. “I know today is extra tough but your strength, love, [and] resilience is unmatched. I’ve never seen anything like it. Nothing makes me happier [than] when I tell you one of my crazy stories and you start laughing [your] a** off. Here’s to more fun memories and big a** smiles. You deserve that. Kobe and Gigi are smiling with you every step of the way. I got your back. NOW. FOREVER. [AND] ALWAYS.”

Isn’t that the truth?

no he won’t, he will be remembered for standing up for his beliefs and what is right. Dude was thug, didn’t listen to police. They didn’t set out to shoot him, they responded to a call for help from his estranged woman. I support you Brian.
