The Chicago Bulls’ most valuable player proved to be DeMar DeRozan‘s nine-year-old daughter, Diar.

When the Chicago Bulls faced off against the Toronto Raptors, Diar made sure to let out the loudest screams she could muster up during every free throw in attempts to throw off the Raptors. In a surprising turn of events, the screams she made seemed to work in favor of the Bulls.

By the end of the game, Toronto had the most free throw misses in an NBA elimination game in over 50 years and ended up losing the game by four points. DeMar even went on to admit he believed Diar was responsible for the big win. “I owe her some money,” he said in a post-game interview. “For sure.”

Even writer Shea Serrano pointed out on Twitter, “Nobody has ever been more effective at making someone miss a free throw than DeMar DeRozan’s daughter she is a master at work.”

Despite her valiant efforts to ensure the Chicago Bulls continue their winning streak, the basketball player informed the media that his daughter will not be attending any games in the near future. “She’s got to go back to school,” DeRozan told reporters after the game, explaining that she will not be at their game against the Miami Heat.

However, ever since becoming a fan favorite, many are disappointed to not see her on the court. Even United Airlines, which is headquartered in Chicago and owns the naming rights to the Bulls’ United Center home, made the offer to fly DeRozan’s daughter to the next game.

“The flight’s on us. What do you say, DeMar DeRozan?” United Airlines tweeted. “We’d love to take Diar’s talents to South Beach.”

But, perhaps more importantly, the official Chicago Bulls Twitter account made an official request to let Diar have a day off school. “To Diar DeRozan’s teacher: may we kindly request Diar be excused from school on Friday,” they wrote on social media.

Although there are countless requests to have Diar as a Bulls cheerleader, her father reinforced her need to attend school. He firmly stated his daughter’s schedule and explained, “She has school today, I just spoke to her this morning on the way to school…No, she will not be here. She’s ruled out.”
