On May 8th, the retired New York Yankees player took to Instagram and shared that his first ever son, Kaius Green Jeter, was born on Friday, May 5 to him and his wife. “Welcome to the world lil man,” he wrote in the caption of the post.

In addition to baby Kaius, the couple has three daughters together;  River Rose, 17 months, Story Grey, 4, and Bella Raine, 5. With Kaius being the newest addition to the family, the baseball star decided it was time to update his Instagram bio. “Sleep-deprived father of four,” he wrote of himself after announcing his newest child’s grand entrance.

In 2016, Jeter married Hannah Davis and the pair announced the birth of their first daughter roughly a year later. Although he is proud to be a father of four now, the athlete discussed his thoughts behind being a father to three girls in February during an interview with Jimmy Fallon.

Derek Jeter says having three daughters is ‘controlled chaos’

“It’s controlled chaos. It’s school pick-ups, drop-offs, they do my nails, my toenails, makeup, and lipstick. It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced though, my girls, they are the absolute best,” he said of his girls.

Considering his status as an MLB Hall of Famer, many are curious as to whether or not his children have an affinity for sports. According to Jeter himself, his eldest child enrolled in tennis but didn’t like it as much as he thought she would.

“My wife used to play tennis so we put our oldest in tennis lessons when she was about 4 years old,” Jeter told Fallon. “I was pretty proud because she would actually be pretty good for the 15 minutes that she would focus and then it’s going to drawing in the clay.”

“One day we’re taking her to practice and I say, ‘Bella are you ready to go to tennis practice?’ And she says, ‘I don’t want to go,’ and I say, ‘That’s fine we’ll find something else for you to do,'” he continued. “She says, ‘Dad, I already know how to play.’ So she is not lacking in confidence when it comes to sports.”

With this being said, the world will have to wait and see how the youngest Jeter child reacts to sports!
