Devin McCourty is known for his acumen as a New England Patriots defensive back, a two-time Pro Bowler, and three-time Super Bowl champion. If you mistake him for someone else, you can thank his twin, Jason, with whom they share social media accounts and a Super Bowl title together.
The twins have experienced the peak of the NFL together.

The family, along with experiencing many joys and peaks, have also seen some very difficult valleys together.
Devin is married “Michelle McCourty (and) have two children, 3-year-old daughter Londyn and two-year-old son Brayden” according to Morristown Daily Record’s Jane Havsy.
They also experienced the unthinkable last year as Devin shared his beloved wife, Michelle’s, post in May 2020, where Michelle said:
“Dev and I suffered the most painful experience of our lives. My pregnancy had resulted in a still birth at almost 8 months of being pregnant-at exactly 31 weeks 2 days, when we found out that the baby girl growing inside me no longer had a heart beat after being completely fine the week prior at my last doctor’s appt. We are so heart broken…”

As you could imagine, this was absolutely tragic for Michelle and Devin as they grasped for some sort of hope to deal with the pain.
“It’s hard to fathom what for, why us, what (H)is plan was and is; but somehow-in that moment of hearing this terrible news- I opened my (B)ible app out of desperation for some answers. And the verse of the day happened to be Hebrews 12:11 ‘No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.’ In between the sobs, reading this was literally the only thing that gave me an ounce of hope for the future during such a tragic moment…”

Michelle also asked for prayer, prayers “towards (their) future”, “for (their) healing”, “for some closure”, that their “devastation can somehow find some hope for better things to come for (their) family. That (their) family’s grown doesn’t end here”..
“Pray that, despite our deep sorrow, God is able to use us and this tragedy in the way (H)e intended. Hopefully for some good. Maybe to share our story to help others who may have suffered in the same way see that it can happen to anybody and that they are not alone. That we can get through this somehow. That we still have to believe that this all happened for a bigger purpose…Pray that our baby Mia will always remain in our hearts and that we can meet her one day up above and know that she was watched over us and was loved and missed. God bless.”

Amidst all the adversity and trials the McCourty family has had to deal with this past year, there is some incredible news the family has just shared.
It looks like those prayers they asked for are being answered.
In May 2021, almost exactly a year-to-the-date of the tragedy in May 2020, “Dmac” and Michelle have an announcement:
“It’s a BOY!!!!!!” Devin excitedly announced in an Instagram post.
Devin continued on to say: “S/O @mrsjmac30 excitement through the roof 😂😂😂…..rainbows and blessings defined today 🌈 👶🏽 “.
Michelle was able to reflect deeply on what was a funny, touching, light-hearted moment in during the family’s gender reveal party.
“It’s a…..🌈 💖💙!!” Michelle said in the Instagram post. “Down to the LAST balloon. What are the chances that between Dev, the kids, their cousins and I, we all hit every balloon except the one with the gender reveal until the very end??”
“After rewatching these videos over and over, I thought to myself-maybe that was baby Mia teasing us from Heaven-laughing at us from above as we constantly miss the balloon and making us wait in suspense to find out if the sibling she sent down to us was a boy or girl,” Michelle went on to say in the post.
“Maybe I’m reaching-but it was definitely ironic. Either way, we are over the moon excited for our little one to join the MACfam. It’s been an emotional whirlwind of a year, but after such a heartbreaking loss and as we approach the Heavenly 1st birthday of our babygirl, Mia, we continue to pray for our little man to bless us with his healthy earthly presence in the next few weeks. His siblings have been excitingly awaiting his arrival and praying nightly for him (despite Brayden’s meh😐 reaction at the reveal-he still wants to be the baby of the family 🤣🤷🏽♀️).
