According to multiple sources, Tom Brady’s wife, Gisele Bündchen, is getting frustrated with his decision to keep playing professional football.

“Going back to Tampa after the retirement put a strain on the personal side of his life,” the source reported, per media outlet PEOPLE. “Gisele is frustrated and sick of his career coming before their family, who has always supported him.”

Earlier this year, the legendary quarterback announced that he would be stepping down from his position on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, only a few weeks later, his retirement announcement was annulled and Brady shared that he would be returning for his 23rd season. As stated by the insiders, this frustrates Gisele because she feels as though he does not put enough time towards family.

Rumors initially began brewing following Brady’s retirement reversal. At the time of his unretirement, sources shared the sentiments, “There’s a lot of tension. She was so happy when he announced his retirement, and she wasn’t thrilled at all when he went back on that.”

And, it seems as though rumors have only continued to grow. Recently, following Brady’s 11-day absence from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp, many are beginning to believe the couple has hit a rough patch and the quarterback needed personal time to work on the marriage. As stated by Tampa Bay’s head coach Todd Bowles, the 45-year-old father was excused from training camp “to deal with some personal things.”

“Everyone has different situations they’re dealing with, and we all have unique challenges to our lives,” Brady said during a press conference, careful not to detail the reason behind his absence from the field. “I’m 45 years old, man.”

Yet, the truth regarding the Brady-Bündchen relationship remains unclear. According to another insider close to the 7 time Super Bowl champion, bringing up his wife has been a touchy subject. “Everyone here knows that there’s tension, but we don’t know how serious it is. So we’re just not talking to him about Gisele. It’s not a topic anyone wants to bring up to him,” the source said.

“There is a point Gisele believes that enough is enough,” the source added. “He already announced his return to football this spring, so friends don’t understand why she’s upset now… They’ve been very private about what’s really going on.”
