During a recent episode of his “Let’s Go” podcast on SiriusXM, the NFL superstar discussed his team’s struggles. “There’s definitely some things we do well, there’s a lot of things we don’t do well and I think too much of good, bad, good, bad, good, bad, leaves you average, and no one’s trying to be average,” the athlete said, providing context to his main point.

Brady went on to explain, “If you want to be a great team, you’ve got to be way better than average. So correcting our mistakes, improving our effort, which, that’s probably the most embarrassing part of our team is our effort level on game day, and that’s something we better fix.”

However, Tampa Bay’s head coach Todd Bowles happens to disagree with his star quarterback’s sentiment. According to Buccaneers Radio Network, Bowles thinks the team’s issue has nothing to do with lack of effort.

“It was huge [to beat the Rams] after losing three weeks in a row, you get very sour and you have a very sour taste in your mouth for a long time, not from lack of effort, but lack of execution, lack of doing things right,” the coach shared, opposing the hypothesis of Brady.

And, perhaps the head coach and leading quarterback living life in disagreement, in and of itself is a reason for the Buccaneers struggling to keep up with the pace of the NFL. With all of this being said, there is still time for the Florida-based team to turn their scores around. They continue to lead in the NFC South, despite their 4-5 record.

In addition, Brady still believes his team will turn around. Per the quarterback himself, he doesn’t think that teams start playing their best until later in the season after they’ve had to work out the kinks of the new roster.

“The best teams start playing well around Thanksgiving,” Brady informed his podcast listeners. He went on to relay the information, “That’s because you basically figured out what you are and what you need to do.”

Hopefully, for the sake of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the quarterback is right about his prediction.
