Mixed Martial Artists and Ultimate Fighting Champion fighter Jon Bones Jones wants violent protesters and looters to stop destroying their cities and saying it’s in honor of George Floyd. On June 1, the father of one took to Instagram to share a video of how he is participating in the protests in his particular city.

On May 25, 46-year-old George Floyd was arrested on the suspicion of using a counterfeit $20 to buy a pack of cigarettes at a local convenience store in Minnesota. After being handcuffed and put into the back of a police cruiser, he was later taken out of the car and put face down on the road beneath him.

It was then that one of the four responding police officers put his knee on Floyd’s neck and left it there for nearly nine minutes until Floyd became unconscious and was put into the back of an ambulance after going into full cardiac arrest. Floyd begged for his life, but he was sadly pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Now, people upset and angry at the tragic situation are protesting. And while some are doing so peacefully, other have become violent and destructive. From looting to tagging and vandalizing, Jones wants it to stop.

In a video shared to his Instagram account, Jones is seen confronting a person with a can of spray paint in his hands. You can hear Jones tell one of the people to “give me the spray can.” At first the person tries to convince Jones that he’s not doing anything but eventually surrenders the can over to Jones and walking away.

The person behind the camera filming Jones can be heard telling them “It’s not the way man.”

Along with the video, Jones, who is a father himself, shared a few words as well.

“Is this sh*t even about George Floyd anymore?!? Why the f**k are you punk a** teenagers destroying our cities!?? As a young black man, trust me I’m frustrated as well but this is not the way, we are starting to make a bad situation worse. If you really got love for your city (505), protect your sh*t. All you old heads need to speak up, call your young family members and tell them to come home tonight.”

Just several hours later, Jones was back on the same streets but this time he was helping clean up the messes that were made the night before and help those whose storefronts were ruined begin the stages of starting again.

“Lots of work to do out in the streets today, men. If you’re a real one, call your boys and get to work.”

Thousands of his fans applauded Jones for his work so far in this very difficult time.
