During a recent appearance on the Tamron Hall Show, Larsa Pippen opened up about her romantic relationship with Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan’s 32-year-old son.
It is no surprise that the relationship between the Real Housewives star and 32-year-old came as a shock, considering the family history that contextualizes it. Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan had a notorious rivalry. Despite being teammates, Scottie went on to reveal he has personal qualms with Michael. In the docuseries The Last Dance, he said he considered Michael to be “condescending” in nature and even referred to him as “selfish.”
Following Larsa’s divorce from Scottie, finding out that she’s dating Michael’s son was surely confusing to some.
Aware that many people have questions regarding the nature of their relationship, Tamron Hall did not hold back from questioning the 48-year-old about her partner. But, Larsa revealed that her relationship is in a very stable place.
“We’re in a really good place,” she told the talk show host. “We’re both from Chicago, so I feel like we have a lot in common — a lot of common ground.”
Nevertheless, Tamron was curious as to why the model felt inclined to date Michael Jordan’s son, especially when considering the family drama that brews between the two. According to Larsa Pippen, she doesn’t let Scottie’s opinion of Michael Jordan determine who she is and isn’t going to date.
Larsa Pippen says Marcus Jordan is her ‘best friend’
“You know, I can’t basically explain how someone else feels. That’s how Scottie feels. He has a right to the way he feels,” she explained. “I live my truth. I’m happy. [Marcus] is my best friend.”
“I didn’t plan it like that. We were just together a lot with our friends. You gotta remember — being with an athlete, you get scrutinized a lot. People don’t think you should have a life once you get divorced,” Pippen continued. “I feel like I should have love and be able to date who I want and live happy and go wherever I wanna go and not be judged every time I’m seen with someone. It’s hard.”
With the family feud aside, some fans are curious about the age difference between Pippen and Jordan. With Larsa being 48 years old, it makes her 16 years older than her boyfriend. However, she insists the age gap doesn’t affect their romance.
