LeBron James And Anthony Davis Sign Massive Contract Extensions With The Lakers
Coming off a 2020 NBA title in the Orlando bubble, the Lakers worked quickly to secure their two staples to the team so they can continue to call LA home for years to come (all pun intended with the Staples Center).

Who many consider the GOAT of today’s NBA, LeBron James agreed to a two-year contract extension worth $85 million according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania and multiple reports.
The max extension runs through the 2022-23 season as Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told The Athletic.
Seven-time NBA All Star Anthony Davis agreed to a five-year $190 million max contract according according to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski.
“LA’s a place I want to be…they’re doing a great job of just putting the team together, it’s a place where I love to be,” Davis said per Spectrum Sportsnet and went on to say: “I thought it was just a great thing to go five years and be here in a place that I love and don’t plan on going anywhere, so why not maximize the most out of this opportunity.”
Davis also talked about LeBron’s contract deal and how he’s ready to continue suiting up with the Lakers.
“I know he still loves the game, he’s ready to continue to play basketball for the Laker organization,” Davis said per Spectrum Sportsnet. “Obviously…talked about being able to play basketball with his son and I wasn’t surprised by the extension. After doing something special like that with a great group of guys and then having another great group of guys this year, it’s hard to leave LA Nation.”
Just as Davis said, there’s potential for LeBron to play in the NBA with his son, Bronny. Multiple reports are saying that Bronny could enter the NBA Draft in 2023 if the league goes back to allowing players to enter the draft out of high school per The New York Post.
LeBron’s contract, as mentioned by the New York Post, would set James up to be a free agent in 2023 and could be able to choose where to go to play with his son if that ‘one-and-done’ (one year of college first) rule changes.
The contracts keep James and Davis on the Lakers, a dynamic duo on the court and a force to be reckoned with as NBA champions.
