The Giants should be commended for their success in this year’s draft. After embarrassing themselves last year by drafting Daniel Jones at the sixth pick when he could have fallen until at least the end of the first round, the Giants did a fantastic job at drafting players at a great value.
Thursday night, the first round of the NFL Draft kicked off and it lived up to the hype. Despite the new and awkward virtual draft, the first round happened with no hitches, and it is safe to say it satisfied many sports fan’s needs for something to talk about. And 49ers fans have plenty to talk about.
Aaron Rodgers may have watched the draft tonight hoping for the help of a new wide receiver or two. Unfortunately for Rodgers, instead of Green Bay drafting Rodgers his help, they drafted his replacement. What goes around comes around, as these were the exact circumstances back in the 2005 draft when Aaron Rodgers was drafted to the Green Bay Packers in the first round to eventually replace Brett Favre.
“My brothers were my good friends, they were my best friends.”
“Trespassing in parks, breaking and entering… Just making myself at home in Tompa Bay!”
The Baltimore Ravens are coming off their best regular season in franchise history. They had a franchise-high record of 14-2, went on a 12 game win streak, set the record for most team rushing yards in a single season, and became back-to-back AFC North Champions for the first time since 2012.
Needless to say, the Dolphins are not in a good position right now. Miami was one of the worst teams in the league last year, finishing 5-11 (last in the AFC East) with the statistically worst defense and 27th best offense in the NFL. For their poor play, the Dolphins have earned themselves the fifth pick in the 2020 Draft. After their fall to rock bottom, Miami is ready for a rebuild.
On Tuesday, April 21st, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they had just traded a 4th round draft pick to the New England Patriots for Rob Gronkowski alongside a 7th round draft pick. Gronk is set to make $9 million with the possibility of $10 million with the Buccaneers in 2020.
