When Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes discussed his daughter Sterling meeting Santa, he admitted that she has a fear of his team’s mascot.
“We got to do it at the Chiefs’ Christmas party, which is always a great event for us,” the father of two said of his daughter meeting Santa during this appearance on The Drive on Audacy’s 610 Sports Radio (Kansas City).
“She actually wasn’t too scared of Santa, but she was terrified of Wolfie, the mascot, so we have to make sure we keep her away from him until at least she gets a little older.”
Continuing, Mahomes explained that his daughter is a very relaxed child, whereas Wolfie is excitable. In his opinion, he doesn’t believe these personality traits clash. “[Wolfie’s] got a lot of energy too and she’s a very calm baby. I don’t know if they mix right now,” he said.
In addition to the excitement of meeting Santa, Sterling Mahomes is very excited to be an older sister. Recently, Patrick and his wife Brittany welcomed their second child into the world: Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III. According to Brittany, Sterling is making a great older sister thus far.

“Just a little emotional today thinking about how blessed I am and how proud of this little angel I am. She has been doing so good as a big sister. She loves her brother so much and has been just the best little helper,” the mother wrote in a caption posted on Instagram.

“I felt like so many people were trying to put this negative idea of how much she was gonna hate not being the only child into my head and it was kind of starting to upset me,” Brittany continued. “If you are a new mom, or about to become a mama of multiple kiddos, just know everyone’s story is different, and don’t let other people’s ideas get to you! It’s your family and your own journey. It will all work out, stay positive and enjoy every second of it.”
According to Us Weekly, an anonymous source close to the Mahomes family relayed that the two parents are overjoyed about their expanding family. “Patrick and Brittany are in pure baby bliss right now,” the source shared. “They have their families circulating in and out to help Patrick out with anything around the house. They are so happy with their growing family and love spending time with their new son.”
