Serena Williams’ Daughter’s Doll, ‘Qai Qai’, Is All Over The Place
If you’ve heard of ‘Qai Qai’ before, it may be because of Serena Williams‘ daughter’s doll’s name.
The doll gained a following, so much so, that it’s now selling on Amazon and was a popular gift for kids over the Christmas season. Qai Qai is “an animated representation of a doll superimposed onto digital photos” according to The New York Times.
The Amazon description of the doll is: “Qai Qai is no ordinary doll; since appearing on social media alongside Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter Olympia, Qai Qai has amassed over one million followers of her own. While documenting her adventures both at home and around the world, Qai Qai strives to be the friend we all need and hope to be. She is smart, funny, relatable, and empowering. Now, sporting her tutu and all, you can bring the Internet’s most popular doll home to your child.”
Williams was excited that kids were able to get the Qai Qai doll as a gift:
“This video of kids welcoming ‘Qai Qai’ into their homes….. words just can’t describe it!!!!” Williams said in an Instagram post. “❤️❤️❤️😭 The doll is still available on Amazon if you haven’t gotten yours. Link in my bio to shop!”
Ohanian, Williams’ husband, was proud of the 500+ reviews of the doll on Amazon:
Qai Qai has followed Serena and her family from speaking engagements to pro tennis matches.
And when it comes to Serena and her family, they are spending some quality time together at home.
And Qai Qai? She can’t wait for 2021.
For more of a background on the doll and its story, you can find it on The Oprah Magazine’s website.
In the meantime, Qai Qai will indeed be living its best life with whomever around the world decides to bring them alongside their journey, as well.
