Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, is celebrating her biggest gold medal of all: marriage.
Just over a year ago, the four-time Olympic gold medalist announced she was engaged to her longtime boyfriend, NFL player Jonathan Owens.
“I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married FIANCÉ,” she announced on Instagram at the time of the big proposal.
As the date creeps closer, Biles is growing more excited by the second. Most recently, she shared photos from her cloud nine-themed wedding shower and the close friends and family who celebrated the occasion with her.
The American gymnast sported a gorgeous floor-length white gown while her guest opted for powder blue dresses. The entire shower consisted of white balloons, a cocktail bar inside a white truck, a giant cream-colored cake, and champagne cocktails topped with tiny clouds.
“On Cloud 9 BRIDAL SHOWER. Feeling so loved & blessed,” Biles wrote in the caption of an Instagram post that showed off the wonderful event. In a follow-up post that honored her bridesmaids, the 26-year-old said, “The best girls, my day 1’s. Can’t wait to get married with y’all by my side!!!”
Since the initial marriage announcement, Biles keeps fans updated with continuous wedding milestones. In fact, only a few months after Owens popped the big question, the gymnast admitted that she already had her dress and was in the process of choosing a venue.

“IÂ feel like I’ve only become stressed out within the last week, trying to choose a venue and stuff like that, because there are so many great places to get married, and I feel like that’s a really big decision,” she told PEOPLE Magazine in April 2022. “I already have my dresses, so that’s good because it takes a while to get into production and stuff like that.
Reflecting on the proposal, she also discussed her feelings when Owens popped the big question during their Valentine’s Day 2022 date.
“I started shaking really bad because then I was like, ‘Wait, hold up. What if he proposes?’ But I didn’t want to get my hopes up … and then he did it,” Biles recalled. “And I was just like, I kind of had a feeling, but I wasn’t sure.”
