Big 12 Football Coach Kaz Kazadi Educates Players on Consent and Sexual Harassment During Moving Speech

Kaz Kazadi, a football coach representing the Big 12 school TCU, recently went viral after he delivered a speech to players about the importance of consent and respecting sexual boundaries.

During the TCU coach’s speech, he gave his player’s a hypothetical scenario to think about in which they would need consent. “You’re with the young lady. She has to consent to every act,” Kazadi said. “So if you were in the car with her and something went down in the car, that does not mean that something has to go down at the apartment. If y’all do something in the car, that does not mean something else has to happen.”

Continuing, the coach warned against sending sexually explicit photographs to women. “That next day, you cannot assume that it is okay to send a d— pic or something like that. She has every right to turn around and press charges against you,” Kazadi explained.

He also told the players that if they don’t know the proper way to be respectful to a young lady, “picture it being your little sister or your mother.” When he asked the boys if they understood, the words “Yes, sir,” were unanimous throughout the group.

Kazadi’s speech was filmed and uploaded to social media by Eron Hodges, director of recruiting and defensive analyst at the Big 12 school. After the video was posted, a sea of followers flooded to the comment section and showed support for the coach’s initiative.

Instagram users express gratitude over Kaz Kazadi’s important speech

“Yes yes yes! This is a great example of utilizing the moment,” a female sports coach wrote in response to the speech.

Another comment admired Kazadi’s coaching tactics, noting his ability to always keep his players in line and attentive. The follower said, “His guys are always locked in, whether he’s actively yelling/moving at practice in Coach mode or calmly speaking to them man-to-man in mentor mode. A+ Coach!”

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering his long history of coaching. He was once a part of the Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff, as well as the Dallas Cowboys. After moving on to leading college football teams, Kazadi was named the American Football Coaches Association Strength Coach of the Year and the American Football Monthly FBS Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year in 2013.

He joined the coaching staff at TCU in December 2021 and has consistently employed dedication to his team.
