At this point in time, any impressive milestone that superstar Tom Brady completes shouldn’t come as a surprise to the general population. As of last Sunday, the NFL star has just become the world record holder for having the most passing yards in the NFL, surpassing Drew Brees‘ previous record.
With a whopping 80,560 total passing yards, Brees believed the Tampa Bay Buccaneer deserved a personal congratulations.
“Congratulations Tom Brady on breaking the NFL All-Time Yardage Record!” Breed wrote in the caption of an Instagram post that detailed the amazing friendship between the two football players. He added, “We have had some epic battles over the years, but more importantly, have been able to develop a great friendship along the way.”
Tom Brady’s game versus his former team will NOT be forgotten!
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus the New England Patriots has been a long-awaited match for fans Brady. Considering the quarterback secured six Super Bowl wins with New England and seemed to be in a rift with his former coach, Bill Belichick, this game has been anticipated for months. Although there is sworn to be no animosity between the two men, people still wondered who to put bets on.

Apparently, betting on Brady’s current team would have had the most reward. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the New England Patriots 19-17 and all the more exciting, Brady added 269 passing yards to his total number of yards in the NFL. While Drew Brees ended his career with 80,358 and held the record for many years, the 44-year-old athlete now is at the top of the list with an astonishing 80,560.
“Some may be surprised what you are doing at age 44, but I am not. Your commitment and dedication to this game, your team, and to being the very best, are second to none,” Brees included in his celebratory post for his friend. He continued recognizing the dedication that Brady has put into the NFL, knowing full well that if anyone deserves this honor, it is the former New England Patriot.
He closed the statement with the sentiments, “Very few realize the stress, sacrifice, and struggle it takes to play the QB position for so many years. You continue to put greatness on display and bring out the best in those around you. Enjoy the moment as you have earned it!”
