DeMar DeRozan’s Home Reportedly Broken Into But DeRozan’s Daughter Comes To The Rescue
According to TMZ, San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan‘s home in LA was broken into but thankfully his 7-year-old daughter came to the rescue.
After hearing from officials, TMZ states that around 7 p.m. on November 19, the suspect could be seen looking into the NBA star’s home via security footage.
“The footage also allegedly shows (the suspect) entering the home through a sliding glass door. Officials say he spent 17 minutes inside the home…until he ran into DeMar’s daughter.”TMZ Report
Per TMZ, a police report stated that “when the suspect saw DeMar’s daughter, he put his finger to his lips and signaled for her to be quiet.” However, while the young girl stayed quiet at that moment, she also “smartly ran downstairs and screamed for her parents.”
TMZ says DeRozan’s girlfriend called 911 and the suspect was located and arrested. TMZ also reported that law enforcement revealed the suspect told them that “he was trying to find Kylie Jenner’s home that night but hit the wrong house by accident.”
Thankfully, no one was hurt and all that was damaged was the sliding door, which the suspect reportedly broke in order to get into the home, TMZ reports.
DeRozan recently addressed the incident by telling KSAT’s RJ Marquez, “Yeah, everything good. I grew up in Compton, California, I’ve been through worse.”
In other news, DeRozan recently gave back to the community with “the largest gift ever by a USC to the NBA alum,” per USC Athletics. In October, he donated a new weight room to USC.
