Capri ‘Koko’ Bryant Celebrates First Birthday, She and Her Family Remember Kobe on His First Father’s Day Since His Passing

On June 20, Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Bryant‘s youngest child celebrated her first birthday. The little girl, Capri ‘Koko Bean’ Bryant—who is named after her late father—had quite the party too.

In a series of photos and videos shared by Vanessa, Koko and their family had a blast watching their littlest family member turn 1-year-old. And they did so while keeping Kobe and Gianna in their thoughts as well.

The first post Vanessa shared was of her and Kobe holding Capri when she was just weeks old. “Happy 1st Birthday, Capri! Mommy, Daddy, Nani, Gigi, and BB love you SO much!!! God Bless you, sweet princess. Capri Kobe Bryant a.k.a. “Koko-Bean” named after her dearly missed daddy, Kobe Bean Bryant. We miss you SO much, Gigi and Daddy.”

Vanessa then shared a photo of Koko in front of her incredible first birthday cake which replicated Tokyo Disney Castle, a tradition within the Bryant family, Vanessa explained on Instagram.

“Natalia had the original Disneyland castle, Gianna had the Walt Disney World Castle, Bianka had Disney Paris and Capri has the Tokyo Disney Castle cake. Due to the pandemic, we thought our 1st birthday tradition wasn’t going to be possible but Jane and Trent made sure Koko got her birthday cake to match her big sisters,” Vanessa shared, in part.

Then just hours after celebrating Koko’s big day, the family remembered Kobe for his first Father’s Day since his passing.

Along with a photo of Kobe surrounded by his four daughters, Vanessa, again, wrote about just how much she and her surviving daughter miss him and their Gigi. “Happy Father’s Day to the BEST daddy in the world. We miss you so much. We love you forever and always. Love, Nani, Gigi, BB, Koko, and VB.”

Natalia also shared her own personal message on Father’s Day via her own Instagram account. The 17-year-old wrote, “Happy Father’s Day to the best dad in the world. I love you. Always, Nani.”
