Michael Strahan Gives Update On COVID-19 Quarantine, Thanks You ‘For Your Well Wishes’

Michael Strahan wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes that have poured in since Strahan, according to a TMZ report on January 27, tested positive for COVID-19.

“Just want to say thank you to everybody for your well wishes and thank you for everyone who reached out and sent me the get well wishes, all the advice on how to feel better,” Strahan said on Good Morning America. “I just want to let you know that I do feel a lot better and I’m just thankful to be on the side of it that I am.”

Strahan gave the update on February 3 on the GMA broadcast. The NFL analyst, Super Bowl champion, seven-time Pro Bowler, and Hall of Fame defensive end said he’s doing well and trying to rest and hydrate as much as he can.

Strahan said he misses (the Good Morning America crew).

“I miss you guys, I miss work, I just, for my own sanity, I gotta’ get out of this house,” Strahan said. “But all the protocols, you gotta’ follow them. So I have been quarantining and just trying to do everything that I can to get healthy so I can get back.”

Strahan reemphasized his appreciation for all the support as he’s been quarantining.

“I just want to thank everybody out there,” Strahan said. “You guys don’t know how much it means to me to know how many people care about me and my health. So, I really, really am very thankful and grateful for you. For every one of you.”

George Stephanopoulos pointed out in the broadcast that there was “an important message from Michael, as well”.

“I just want to say make sure you take care of yourself, wear your mask, wash your hands, use your wipes,” Strahan said. “I did all those things but it just goes to show me that it takes more than just you as an individual…everybody has to do it so that we help out each other because it’s more than just about you. It’s about the people you’re around and the fellow human being. So, protect yourself and by doing that you’re going to protect others. You don’t want COVID. You don’t want to have to go through everything that it brings with it.”

Strahan’s co-worker, Stephanopoulos, can probably relate with Michael as TMZ notes a previous report that Stephanopoulos also “tested positive for coronavirus” in April 2020.

USA Today reported that “(Ali) Wentworth (Stephanopoulos wife)…described her experience as ‘never been sicker’…Stephanopoulos…says he hasn’t had ‘any of the classic symptoms you’ve been reading about’…(Stephanopoulos said he) ‘never had a fever, never had a cough, never had shortness of breath, never had chills'”.

Thankfully, in April 2020 “Wentworth (was) feeling ‘much, much better,’ Roberts said (on GMA)…Stephanopoulos (was) caring for his wife and broadcasting from home after Wentworth developed symptoms in early April (2020).”

And thankfully Strahan is feeling a lot better.

“I really, really appreciate everybody,” Strahan said. “I hope everybody has a great morning, good morning America! Love you guys, miss you, see you soon.”

“And we miss him right back,” Robin Roberts said on the broadcast.

It appears while quarantining, his dog was enjoying the snow:

Strahan is ready to watch the big game, the Super Bowl, and had something to say to both teams.

“To the two teams heading to Tampa Bay, if you believe it, it will become a reality!” Strahan said.
