During the Dec. 19 episode of “Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray” podcast, the NFL legend discussed his Christmas plans. While he usually spends Christmas Eve with his family, this year he will be spending it in a hotel room without his children. “It’ll be a new experience that I’ve never had before that I’m going to have to learn how to deal with,” the father admitted. “And I think that’s what life’s about.”

Continuing, Brady went on to experience to the NFL season and having to adjust to whatever comes his way. “So you just asked a question about, ‘What have you learned from this football season?’ I’m going to learn how to deal with Christmas Eve in a hotel,” he said.

The quarterback then explained, “I’m going to have to learn how to deal with Christmas and Christmas night and still go out there and be a professional and then look forward to celebrating Christmas with my kids the day after, which is part of what football season has been for a long time.”

A look back into Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s ‘amicable’ divorce

After 13 years of marriage, the NFL player made the decision to split from Gisele Bündchen, who mothers two of his children: Benjamin, 13, and Vivian, 10. In late October, the couple publicly announced their separation.

“In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage,” Brady wrote on Instagram at the time. “We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”

In addition to the quarterback, Bündchen released her own statement in which she shared that she and Brady’s main priority is keeping their children happy. “My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart,” she wrote.

This sentiment has also been evident through the Tampa Bay player’s various statements. In multiple episodes of his podcast, he has emphasized the happiness of his children in relation to his divorce. “I’m really focused on two things, taking care of my family and certainly my children, and secondly, doing the best job I can to win football games,” he relayed in a previous episode.
