There Are Only 10 Active NHL Players With at Least 3 Stanley Cup Titles — Can You Name Them?

One of the few things all NHL players share in common is their desire to one day hoist the Stanley Cup trophy – the Holy Grail of the National Hockey League (NHL). It’s something they dream of growing up and something they work so hard for year-in and year-out – giving their all to a sport they love so much.

The Stanley Cup is the crowning achievement for any player fortunate enough to kiss the prestigious trophy – which is made of nickel alloy and steel, stands 35.24 inches tall, and weighs 34.5 pounds – before hoisting it above their head. For those worthy enough, it’s a moment they’ll remember forever.

Over the past 105 years, countless NHL players have etched their names in the annals of hockey glory by helping their teams win the ultimate prize. At the same time, it’s something other NHL players will spend their entire career chasing, only to fall short – retiring without a single Stanley Cup ring on their finger.

Active NHL Players With At Least 3 Stanley Cup Wins

While not everyone is guaranteed to win a Stanley Cup in their career, some are more fortunate than others. Looking at the history of the NHL, 514 skaters/goalies have won at least two Stanley Cup titles and 218 skaters/goalies have won at least three Stanley Cups – which might seem like a lot, but it isn’t.

And while 119 NHL players have won at least four Stanley Cup titles, there’s not a single active player in the league on that list. In fact, the last person to win a fourth Stanley Cup was Chris Kunitz, who won his third title with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2017 – he also won a Stanley Cup with the Anaheim Ducks.

While no active NHL players have four Stanley Cup titles under their belt, there are currently 10 active NHL players with three titles and they’ll all have an opportunity to add another one next season. And three of those players will enter the 2023-24 regular season as defending champions with the Golden Knights.

Without further delay, let’s meet the 10 active NHL players with at least three Stanley Cup wins in their careers.

Which NHL Players Have the Most Stanley Cup Wins All-Time?

Looking at the landscape of the NHL today, it’s highly unlikely that we ever see someone break the all-time record for most Stanley Cup wins in a single player’s career. That record is currently held by Henri Richard, who won 11 Stanley Cup titles with the Montreal Canadiens between 1956 and 1973.

His teammate, Jean Beliveau, was a part of 10 of those titles and his other teammate, Claude Provost, was a part of nine. Yvan Cournoyer was a part of six of them, but went on to win four more Stanley Cups with the Canadiens following Richard’s retirement – one of just three NHL players with at least 10 titles.

There are four other NHL players with at least eight Stanley Cup titles, including Maurice Richard (Canadiens), Red Kelly (Red Wings and Maple Leafs), Jacques Lemaire (Canadiens), and Serge Savard (Canadiens). We likely won’t see another dynasty as dominant as Montreal was ever again.
