Back in January, as At The Buzzer reported, NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers opened up about his excitement when it came to the possibility that he may be asked to guest host Jeopardy. The Green Bay Packer revealed his role of a lifetime while a guest on the Pat McAfee Show.
“It is very exciting,” Rodgers said at the time, per ESPN. “It’s for the offseason. We’ll be even more excited when that opportunity gets a little closer, but, man, the show has been so special to me over the years…It’s been a staple at my house here in Green Bay for the last 16 years — 6 o’clock watching Alex and trying to get as many questions as I can.”

In fact, when Rodgers had the chance to be on the game show himself, he won!
Now, there are specific dates tied to his guest-hosting gig, People reports. Rodgers will host his first episode of Jeopardy on April 5 and will continue to do so through April 16.
The show’s official Instagram page shared a promotional video in preparation for the QB’s big moment. In the video, Rodgers can be seen standing behind the legendary podium talking about his love of Jeopardy and more. “Other than the Super Bowl, this is the honor of a lifetime,” he told the fans.
“Following in the footsteps of a legend is something I know a little bit about,” Rodgers said while referencing former Packers QB Brett Favre and Trebek. “The key to being football smart is to focus. And the key to really being good at hosting is that same focus.”
Legendary Jeopardy host Alex Trebek passed away in November 2020. Since his passing, the show has continued to film episodes using only guest hosts. It’s unclear if the show will ever permanently replace Trebek with one person.
