There is something about athletes and their mamas that make them the ultimate mother-child duo.

Whether it be the sacrifices they made so that their little stars could pursue their dreams of becoming professional athletes, or maybe it’s the Campbells soup commercials that have been airing for years, moms and their athletic children are like peanut and jelly, it just works.

So in honor of all the selfless, giving, and kind moms of the world, here are some of the loving words many of our favorite professional athletes have shared about their moms this past Mother’s Day.

CC Sabathia

Along with a throwback photo of him and his mom from when he was a kid, Sabathia thanks his mama for always having his back. “Love you Ma!! Happy Mother’s Day. Thanks for always having my back.”

Tom Brady

While sharing photos of his own mom and the mother of two of his children, Brady praised his mom Galynn and his wife Gisele for their motherly love. “Happy Mother’s Day to these two! There is nothing better than being loved by you on your special day!”

Stephen Curry

While in the moment it might be annoying, one of a mother’s jobs is keeping her kids in line and as Curry shared on Instagram, it’s one of the things he’s most grateful for. “Long-distance Happy Mother’s Day to you, Grashi.
