NBA free agent Bryn Forbes, who won the NBA championship with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021, was arrested after allegedly hitting his fiancée on Valentine’s Day.

The professional basketball player, who was released by the Minnesota Timberwolves just last week, was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of assault with bodily injury, a misdemeanor, after a verbal argument with a female companion turned physical, according to San Antonio police records. The 29-year-old was taken and escorted to Bexar County Jail, where bail had not been set.

According to the police reported filed the day after Valentine’s Day, Forbes’ fiancée relayed that her partner verbally and physically assaulted her to the point of a visible black eye. Additionally, she reported needing medical attention.

According to an anonymous source close to the victim, Forbes felt threatened by his partner’s success as a top OnlyFans creator. “She is a top Only Fans creator, and she recently launched her own Heartbreakers podcast. She is launching her own clothing line. Bryn felt threatened by her success and wanted to be the only successful one in their relationship,” the source told the Daily Mail.

“This was the first time he ever abused her, but once was enough,” the insider added, speaking of the harrowing incident. “Her entire body is bruised up, and she has two black eyes. He hit her so many times, and it was so terrifying for her.”

Bryn Forbes’ partner is unsure if she will press charges or not.

The source continued detailing the thoughts of the victim, sharing, “She is just so upset, and she is shocked that someone she loved so much did this to her…She is done with him, and she is unsure if she is going to press charges or not. Right now, she is focusing on healing and getting through this one day at a time.”

Forbes played seven seasons in the NBA after going undrafted in 2016 and had a history at Cleveland State and Michigan State during college. The athlete spent his first four seasons playing for the San Antonio Spurs before he joined the Milwaukee Bucks as a free agent in 2021. Since then, he returned to the Spurs but was traded to the  Denver Nuggets halfway through the season.

As of last week, Forbes was released from the team as a free agent, and it is highly unlikely he will be joining another team soon. The San Antonio Police still consider the incident an active investigation.
