High School Football Team Obliterates Opponents With Staggering 106-0 Score But Then Apologize For Lack of Integrity

Los Angeles-based educational facility, Inglewood High School, recently faced scrutiny after their football team dominated an opposing school with a shocking score of 106-0. Upon realization of possible foul play, the school’s principal Debbie Tate put out a statement that reflected sincere apologies and regard for the rival football team.

“Our administration and coaching staff believe that athletics should be a source of pride for our community,” Tate shared in her announcement. “While Friday’s game did not reflect our best judgment as administrators, the Morningside High School and Inglewood High school football players, and their coaches have worked hard all season and deserve our respect.”

Inglewood was playing Morningside High School, both schools apart of the Inglewood Unified School District, on Friday night when the rare occurrence happened. The score jumped IHS to the record books for the highest-scoring high school football team in over five years. However, both schools and school district officials have stated that they are “saddened beyond words” because of the outcome and plan to conduct an investigation into the matter.

Erika Torres, a county administrator, revealed in her own statement, “We will conduct a full investigation and take whatever steps are necessary to ensure that a similar outcome never happens again under an IUSD athletic program.”

“We value the hard work and commitment made by every student-athlete and regret these actions have taken the focus away from the positive strides our programs have made at IUSD,” she continued.

Inglewood High School Football’s head coach faces criticism

Brian Collins, head coach for the Morningside football team, noted that the IHS head coach used their UCLA-bound quarterback who ended up passing for 13 touchdowns throughout the game. According to Morningside, this move was “classless” and it was only expected that they would lose.

Even Dick Vitale, a legendary sports commentator was outraged by this outcome and took to Twitter to share his concerns. “How can the Coaching staff of INGLEWOOD HS California feel good about themselves,” he began, questioning the motives of IHS. Vitale concluded the statement with the blunt sentiments, “SICKENING & a DISGRACE to the Title of COACH! Congrats on teaching good sportsmanship .U SHOULD BE FIRED!”

“He used their star quarterback, so it was to be expected,” Davyon Scruggs, a football player for Morningside High, reported. After referencing the opposing team’s coach, Scruggs included, “We came in the game knowing that we were going to lose, but at the same time we still fought to the very end and didn’t quit and that’s what really matters.”
