Jay Briscoe’s Daughters Released From Hospital 1 Month After Crash That Left Their Father Dead

In January, professional wrestler Jay Briscoe was killed in a car crash that also left his two daughters in critical condition. After spending one month in the hospital, theΒ two girls, ages 9 and 12, were able to leave the hospital.

Ashley Pugh, mother of the girls and wife to Briscoe, took to FaceBook and shared a status update on her children. As of this week, the girls were discharged from the hospital and in wheelchairs. “Got all my babies back together,” Ashley wrote on the social media site, attaching a family photo.

Alongside their father, the two daughters were involved in a car accident in Laurel, a small town in Sussex County, Delaware. In addition to the wrestler, a 27-year-old was involved in the crash and left dead. Briscoe was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt while driving his 2015 Silverado 2500 in the eastbound lanes of Laurel Rode while the other driver was traveling west.

However, the tragic incident claimed the life of the Ring of Honor pro wrestler. “It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the tragic passing of Jamin Pugh, known to wrestling fans around the world as Jay Briscoe,” ROH wrote on Twitter at the time of his death. “Our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and his fans.”

“Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today. Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day,” Tony Khan, CEO of All Elite Wrestling and owner of ROH, also said at the time of the father’s death. “We’ll do whatever we can to support his family. Rest In Peace, Jamin.”

When fellow wrestler Matt Hardy found out about the news, he specifically honored his colleague as a great father and talented performer. “I’m DEVASTATED that Jay Briscoe (Jamin Pugh) tragically died today. I was honored to work with him many times. I loved Jay,” he began. β€œJay was SO real. Jay loved his wife & kids more than anything & we shared that bond. I’m heartbroken for his family.”
