After New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor helped lead his team to victory against the San Diego Padres, he and his astonishingly cute 2-year-old daughter Kalina appeared in a press conference.

During the first game wild card series between the New York Mets and San Diego Padres, the shortstop was responsible for securing the first win. After hitting the game-winning home run that bumped the score to 7 – 3, Lindor discussed with reported his big plans for the next games.

“We’ve been trying to play like ourselves,” Lindor told the media, explaining how he mustered up the skills to defeat the San Diego Padres. “It’s baseball. We have good days, we have bad days. We try to eliminate as many bad days as possible and try to have more good days. Today we played very Mets-like. We put the ball in play, we run the bases right, we play good defense, we pitch. We stay together, and we win together.”

Excitingly, over the course of this season, Lindor became the shortstop with the highest number of recorded home runs in Mets history. However, the athlete didn’t seem particularly excited about this fact. “It would mean a lot more to me to win the World Series than to be the all-time leading shortstop in home runs,” he explained.

In the midst of her father talking to reporters, Kalina spotted Mets manager Buck Showalter and attempted to get his attention. “Papa, Buck!” the toddler enthused, causing reporters to focus their concentration on the 2-year-old.

“Yeah, Buck left,” the father said to his daughter. He proceeded to inform the crowd, “She loves Buck.”

The moment was so sweet that Major League Baseball Twitter felt compelled to share it with fans across the globe. Taking to Twitter, the MLB posted a clip of the incident with the caption, “Safe to say Francisco Lindor’s daughter likes Buck.”

Kalina was born to the New York Mets player and his wife Katia Reguero in November 2020 and has quickly become a fan favorite in the baseball community.
