Kemah Siverand Issues Public Apology After Attempting to Sneak Woman into Seahawks Bubble

Kemah Siverand was once an undrafted free agent for the Seattle Seahawks until he tried to disguise a woman as one of his teammates in order to sneak her into the team’s bubble. Back in August, the Seattle Seahawks announced its decision to cut the rookie cornerback.

As At The Buzzer previously reported, Siverand’s actions were caught on video. According to the NFL Network, the woman was seen in the video wearing Seahawks’ gear in an attempt to disguise her.

At first, Siverand kept a low profile after being waived from the team. Now he has released a statement saying he is regretful of his actions. The cornerback shared the statement on his Instagram and Twitter profiles.

“After taking time to reflect and really consider the seriousness of my actions, I have tried to find the appropriate words to apologize to all of those affected by my poor decision and immaturity,” Siverand began his apology. “I’ve privately apologized to Coach Carroll, John Schneider, and the Seahawks organization. I violated team rules, which would have been unacceptable in normal times, but absolutely inexcusable now during a pandemic. I understand my lapse in judgment put my teammates and the organization at risk, thankfully no one else was affected by my actions.”

Siverand went on to say that he is regretful of his actions and takes full responsibility. Now he is ready to move forward and now let one mistake define him.

“I want everyone to know that I am truly sorry, hold myself accountable, and am ready to move forward. I want to make sure this one mistake will not define me, and I will continue training harder than ever to continue pursuing my dreams of playing in the National Football League. I made a mistake, let people down, and am truly sorry. Thank you to everyone that reached out to offer support.”

In addition to this public statement, ESPN reports that the athlete also issued a handwritten apology to his entire team as well.
