Bears QB Nick Foles and Tori Foles Welcome a Rainbow Baby Into the World One Year After Tori Opens Up About Miscarriage
Chicago Bears quarterback Nick Foles and his wife Tori Foles could be happier after welcoming a son into their family on June 12. Their baby boy comes into their lives a little over a year after Tori first opened up about the miscarriage she endured in 2019.
On June 17, Tori took to Instagram to share their big news with their fans. According to her caption, Nick and Tori named their newest addition, Duke Nathan Foles.
The little bundle of joy was born on June 12 at 4:08 p.m. and weighed 9 pounds, while measuring 21.75 inches long. “What a true miracle and sweet surprise it is to meet our baby BOY,” Tori wrote.
“Lily has a new best friend and loves her baby bro so much. We feel incredibly blessed and are enjoying every second with our little man.”
And as Kara Bosworth wrote in the comments section of Tori’s post, Duke was “handpicked from heaven.” In May 2019, Tori—a health coach and lifestyle blogger—was 15 weeks pregnant when she learned she had miscarried.
The mom shared her story on Instagram. She wrote, in part:
“As several of you knew, we were about 15 weeks pregnant with our 2nd baby. Early Sunday morning after a rough couple days fighting a “virus” of some sort, I went into sudden labor and knew something was wrong. Not long after we learned we had miscarried our baby boy. To fully labor and deliver and even see our baby boy was a pretty devastating process. Come to find that I had contracted an infection of pneumonia in the blood. The emotions go back and forth from immense and overwhelming sadness, confusion and anger to a firm belief that God has this fully in his hands and will use this for good. We cannot always understand or explain, but we know that is true.”
Nick and Tori first announced they were expecting in February. “Can’t leave out how excited the kids are for their new friend on the way,” she said when announcing they were expecting. “Some days Lily says she wants a sister, some days a brother, and others she says ‘no baby!'”
Congratulations to the Foles family!
