As a seven-time Super Bowl champion, it is no surprise that Tom Brady‘s life can get hectic. With four children and a wife, that’s one more full-time job he has to hold down. On Monday night during an episode of Let’s Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, the football player discussed how he juggles his NFL career alongside his role as a father figure.

As the quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady explained that he gets a “good healthy off-season” which allows for “a  lot of time off” that he can spend with his family.

“I try to do my best with the kids,” he commented. Then, the athlete went on to share the vulnerable information, “Although I wish I was there more, but I think if I was there too much, you know, they might be sick and tired of me screwing up everything that’s been going on in the house for a long time too.”

The 44-year-old went on to elaborate that his wife Gisele Bündchen has had to step up and commit her life to mother their children. He stated that the former supermodel has, “held down the house for a long time now.”

“You know, she hasn’t worked as much in the last 10, 12 years just raising our family and kind of committing to being in a life in Boston and then moving to Florida,” Brady shared.

While many people wonder when Tom Brady will put his time in the NFL to rest, they typically assume it will be because his age will come up to him. It in incredibly rare to see a football player playing past the age of 40, but the athlete has insisted that when it comes time to retire, it will be so that he can spend more time with his family.

“.. My physical body won’t be the problem,” he said. “I think it’ll just be, I’m just missing too much of life with my family.He additionally commented, “it’s a very difficult issue to reconcile without just saying, ‘Hey, it’s time to retire.’ And I think there’s, you know, we’re coming to the end here too, so I don’t want to miss any of the kids’ stuff.”
