Texas Rangers Already Have 10+ Runs in 16 Games This Season — Let’s Take a Look Back at Each Game!

The Texas Rangers have emerged as one of the best teams in baseball this season – not just winning often, but winning in style. The team is 41-24 through 65 games and currently stands atop the American League (AL) West – 4.5 games ahead of the Houston Astros and 5.5 games ahead of the LA Angels.

Managed by Bruce Bochy, the Texas Rangers are leading the entire MLB in batting average, on-base percentage, runs scored, hits, and home runs – they also rank fourth in slugging percentage. As for their bullpen, the Texas Rangers have the sixth-best team ERA and the second-best WHIP in the entire MLB.

The team has three batters batting above .300, three batters with at least 40 RBIs, eight batters with at least seven home runs, eight batters with at least 10 doubles, and four batters with at least 40 runs scored. They also have three pitchers with at least six wins, led by newcomer Nathan Eovaldi (9-2).

When the Texas Rangers Are Hot, They’re HOT!

The Texas Rangers are one of those teams that tend to run hot – and when they do, they’re tough to beat. What makes them so unique is that they win on the road (20-14) just as much as they win at home (21-10). Of course, their 406-260 run difference also has a lot to do with their ability to win and win often.

One of the most impressive stats for the Texas Rangers this season is their 16 games with at least 10 runs. That means they score at least 10 runs in 25% (16 of 65) of their games this season – which would essentially be once every four games. You can see why opposing pitchers are terrified of facing this team.

It was bound to be that type of season for the Texas Rangers, who scored at least 10 runs in their first two games of the year and have done so in back-to-back games on four other occasions this season. To honor their talent offensively, let’s take a look back at all 16 games they’ve scored at least 10 runs in.

Can the Texas Rangers Keep This Up?

The Texas Rangers are on pace to finish the season with around 40 games of 10+ runs – an unreal number, especially for a team that hasn’t made the postseason in six seasons. If they can continue this level of batting prowess, they should have no problem ending that playoff drought in a couple of months.

While they haven’t scored 10 runs since June 4, they’ve scored at least 6 runs in three games since then – including eight runs on June 12. This might be the longest they’ve gone without scoring 10 runs in a game this season (it’s been 7 games), but they’ll get back to their batting practice ways in no time.

With that said, it’s interesting to note that they tend to score more when playing at home – they’ve scored 12 more runs at home, despite playing three more games on the road. They have six straight games at home between June 13 and 18, but will they score at least 10 runs? I wouldn’t be surprised if they do!
