20 Hockey Players and Their Adorable Families

20 Hockey Players and Their Adorable Families

Hockey players are usually known for being intense and aggressive. They love taking off their gloves and fighting, they often have broken teeth, and have no problem blocking a rubber puck with their body – even though hockey players consistently shoot the puck at 100 miles per hour.

They’re tough, tenacious, and relentless when on the ice, but that intensity often leaves once they step off the ice. At that point, they transition from professional hockey players to normal, average human beings – whether it be a husband, boyfriend, father, son, brother, friend, etc.

It’s something fans get to see a lot more of in the days of social media – their personal lives, that is. Before the internet brought us all closer together, most hockey players lived private lives and kept their personal lives away from the spotlight. In today’s day and age, things are different.

Nowadays, fans get to share a wide range of personal moments with their favorite hockey players. We know when they start dating someone, we know when they get married (and sometimes we get to watch it), and we know when they have children – not much is private.

What’s even more exciting is the fact that we get to watch their children grow up. Whether it’s on social media, during interviews, or just out and about in the community, we get to witness their newborns develop into children, teenagers, young adults, adults, and eventually elders.

Hell, some of those children might one day grow up to follow in their father’s footsteps in the NHL – or maybe another sport that they’re interested in. Some might even have a better career than their father. Either way, let’s take a look at some of the most adorable families in the NHL.

Hockey Players Will Soon Get Some Family Time

The 2021-22 NHL regular season is currently in its home stretch. Teams have under 10 games left as several franchises look to make a last-minute run for a playoff spot. In fact, the Eastern Conference is pretty much set, but the Western Conference seeding is a bit more wide open.

Juggling Between Young Father and Athlete Isn’t Easy

Being a professional athlete isn’t easy – it takes a lot of hard work, practice, talent, dedication, and time. You not only have to perform well as a child, but you have to spark the interest of a college, continue your solid play, and eventually catch the eye of a professional sports team.

By the time most athletes turn professional, they’re still teenagers and young adults. As they continue their career, they start gaining more responsibilities at home – especially when they decide to get married and start a family. At that point, finding a good work-life balance is crucial.
